India, the land of wonders, has within her frontiers a varied topography comprising of the mighty Himalayas with its perennial snow covered slopes and breathtaking valleys, gurgling mountain streams, tropical rain forests, miles of undulating sand dunes and mangrove deltaic swamps abundant in wild animals and birds, and 6,000 kilometers of shoreline with some of the world's best tropical beaches. The adventurous tourist can choose to play golf; skydive; surf; engage in water sports; trek; bird watch or embark on a safari through the jungles. India's wealth lies in its people, with their mind-boggling variety in culture, tradition and beliefs. Every region exudes its own flavor; each has its own way of life, music, dance, crafts, festivals, and cuisine.
Thousands of years of history have left behind monuments that speak of beauty, valor, opulence and splendor. Every conquest had its influence on the Indian culture and had left eternal marks on the same. The Forts and Palaces, the Mughul gardens and monuments, the princely estates, the exquisitely carved temples, wildlife sanctuaries, backwaters, Spice Gardens, Exotic Cuisines, Arts & Crafts, all speak of the richness and the grandeur of the past.
After visiting the Taj Mahal, former U S President Bill Clinton said, “the world is divided into two communities; those who have seen the Taj Mahal and those who have not!” Perhaps he saw only one of India's numerous attractions. Had he seen more he would have probably said the world is divided between those who have seen India and those who have not.
